Since the Dot Com programme’s inception, more than 1,000,000 children have used the programme across the United Kingdom.
There are currently 33,000 children benefiting from the programme, the main concentration being in schools in the West Midlands and London, and this number is increasing all the time.
Over the next year it is intended that the programme be extended through England and Scotland, including in Northampton, Oxford, Devon and Cornwall and Gloucestshire.
Schools can order resources online direct from the Dot Com website, however, please call 07585696262 if you require any advice. Many schools sustain funding of the programme through their pupil premium budget as it helps to break down barriers to learning.
Since the programme’s inception, we have carried out periodic evaluation and consistently received feedback that the Dot programme is an invaluable tool for developing and recognising the values that help children to (i) make decisions about behaving safely, and (ii) respond effectively when they realise they are at risk.
The journals are user friendly and the characters and accompanying puppet sets are engaging for children. The resource has proven particularly effective with children with emotional difficulties and other vulnerabilities.
